This is the translation of a poem named “Kettuzhuthu “by T P Vinod (Lapuda).
Dictation.
Words get picked from
nowhere and they get
transformed to questions!
I need to reach from
the sounds to words by
arranging the alphabets.
When her voice sounded
like ‘grief’ ;along with that
came this choppy crazy rain.
It sounded as if pebbles
were hitting the tin roof; the
rain virtually deafened me.
Even now I fail to listen!
Even now I do misspell!
I still fail to arrange the
alphabets of those words,
which came after ‘grief’

Deep thinking with this poem. Words can mean so much or mean nothing, depending on the reason for the words. Same words can mean so different -depending on the person`s thoughts at the time of hearing them. In sad times we are usually left with wondering what to say and how to say it so that we are fully understood and our meanings are not altered.
Great poem !
